Why Contribute to the SPL’s Gift Fund?

Through innovative educational programs, interdisciplinary scholarly research, and extensive public service, the Syracuse University Institute for Security Policy and Law examines laws and policies pertaining to national and international security, counterterrorism, international law, humanitarian law, human rights, defense policy, veterans affairs, cybersecurity, postconflict reconstruction, critical infrastructure, emerging technologies, and more.

Your gift helps SPL contribute to the analysis, reform, and evolution of these laws and policies and helps prepare the next generation of well-informed lawyers, policymakers, and practitioners.

We hope you’ll consider making a contribution to our important efforts! Click the icon at the top of the page to make a secure online donation in support of the Institute initiatives. Simply click on “Choose another College of Law fund” and scroll down to find the Institute’s Gift Fund.

The Institute continues to build on the legacy of Founding Director William C. Banks, under the leadership of Director James E. Baker:

WE CONTINUE TO BROADEN & DEEPEN OUR AGENDA

SPL dynamically responds to continuously evolving threats by publishing groundbreaking scholarship, convening multidisciplinary conferences and workshops, conducting multiple sponsored research projects, hosting dialogues with law and policy experts and practitioners, and offering a rich curriculum to our law and graduate students.

WE PROVIDE A FIRST-CLASS LAW & POLICY EDUCATION

Students routinely join staff and faculty on real-world research and policy projects; practice their craft by conducting rigorous simulations, capstones, and internships; and participate in the National Security Student Association.

OUR GRADUATES’ ACCOMPLISHMENTS ARE THE BEST EVIDENCE OF OUR SUCCESS

Many of our more than 700 alumni are making a difference across the law, security, and postconflict sectors, in organizations such as the Brookings Institution; DARPA; Deloitte; Judge Advocate General’s Corps; Military Commissions Prosecutions Unit; Naval Air Systems Command; New America Foundation; the departments of Defense, State, Justice, and Homeland Security; and elsewhere.

SPL’s expert faculty and researchers; eager and accomplished students; and international, cross-disciplinary network of affiliates make these successes possible. With their help—and continued support from our sponsors and institutional partners—we can expect our impact to increase in the coming years.

Thank you!
